Closed on Sunday except for special events, and always happy to open after hours if you'll call first.

[click on thumbnails to see larger pictures] Pawnee Santa Fe Railroad Depot: These Pictures were donated by Ron Estes. Ron is a Railroad photographer who was born in Pawnee and whose father worked for the Sana Fe Railway in Pawnee. Ron's Father took these pictures.


Those needing research of any kind done by the Pawnee County Historical Society must contact the Historical society via phone, mail or email with the information you want looked up, including FULL names of ancestors, dates and any other leads you can give. We can not do research on "my great-great grandfather" without knowing his name.

Research costs: $10/hour and copies cost from $0.25 on up (The County Court House charges $5 minimum for copies of records stored there)

MONTHLY MEETINGS: 1st Wednesday of every Month, 1 pm, Museum

  • Pawnee Bill Quilt Block of the Month Class & Quilt Guild meets the second Tuesday of every month. Call 918-762-2513 for more information.

  • July 3 thru 6 - 68th Annual Pawnee Veteran's Homecoming Powwow.
    • 8:00pm - FREE Homecoming Powwow at Memorial Stadium Pawnee, OK

  • July 4 - Pawnee, OK's Independence Day Celebration, starting at 8:00 am with games around the square and ending at 10:00pm with Fireworks . Call 918-762-2108 for information

  • July 5 -
      Ride-in Breakfast, 7:00am. Ride from Court House to Lakeside Arena.
    • Hawk Chief Mile Run, 8:00am, Pawnee High School Football Field.
    • Noon, Pawnee Indian Veteran's Parade (all welcome ) Downtown Parade along Harrison Street.

  • Aug 2 thru 9 - Wild West Week
    • Aug 2 - 6:00pm, Old Time Saturday Night Cruze-In. Cars, Tractors, Jeeps, Motorcycles, Rat-Rods, Hot-Rods, Custom Cars. If itís got wheels bring it to Pawnee. Barbeque Smoke Off, Music and a good time.
    • Aug. 7 thru 9, 7:30pm, nightly - Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo with dancing nightly at the Pawnee Lakeside Arena. Other events will be announced for a full week of rodeo fun. 918-762-2108 for information.
    • Aug. 9, Noon, Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo Parade through downtown Pawnee
  • September 1, Ralston, OK Annual Labor Day Homecoming! Parades, drawings, games, music and lots and lots of fun!

  • Oct 22, Cleveland's 74th Annual Pioneer Day, celebration of the city's pioneer heritage with festivities that include a rodeo, kids' games, arts and craft vendors, food, a huge parade, live entertainment, a street dance and more from 10am to 10pm.
