RESEARCH REQUESTS- Please note:
Those needing research of any kind done by the Pawnee County Historical Society must contact the Historical society via phone, mail or email with the information you want looked up, including FULL names of ancestors, dates and any other leads you can give. We can not do research on "my great-great grandfather" without knowing his name.

Research costs: $10/hour and copies cost from $0.25 on up (The County Court House charges $5 minimum for copies of records stored there)

If you are sure of the amount you will owe for the research you want done or copies you need, you can use the Paypal Donate Now button and input the amount.

MONTHLY MEETINGS: 1st Wednesday of every Month, 1 pm, Museum

  • June 13, 20 & 27 Pawnee Original Wild West Show, 7:30 pm, Pawnee Bill Ranch, preceded by a 5:30 p.m. Barbecue Dinner and a full afternoon of exhibits and entertainment following a parade through downtown Pawnee at 2:00 pm. For more information call 918-762-2513.

  • July 2-5 Pawnee Indian Nation Powwow, the world's largest free powwow, 8:00 pm each night at Memorial Stadium. Yellow Horse Softball tournament Pani Indian Art Show at the fairgrounds. For more information call 918-762-3390.

  • July 9 Victorian Jewelry Making Class, Pawnee Bill Ranch Historic Site & Museum, 10:00 am. For more information call 918-762-2513 or email pawneebill@okhistory.org

  • August 1 Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo Cattle Drive which will start at the Pawnee Lakeside Arena and in the five day drive loop Pawnee as we visit neighboring towns and ranchs, returning on Thursday to drive the cattle through downtown Pawnee. For additional information call 918-762-2108.

  • August 6-8 Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo, a $10,500 added money IPRA rodeo. Nightly Festivities begin at 7:00 pm. There will also be a Dance, BBQ dinner, Endurance Race, Kids' Day at the Rodeo, a Kids' Rodeo, Queen Contest, Teen Queen & Princess Contests, Local Team Roping and much more.
